A Statistical Approach to the Asymptotic Behavior of a Class of Generalized Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations

چکیده
A statistical relaxation phenomenon is studied for a general class of dispersive wave equations of nonlinear Schrödinger-type which govern non-integrable, non-singular dynamics. In a bounded domain the solutions of these equations have been shown numerically to tend in the long-time limit toward a Gibbsian statistical equilibrium state consisting of a ground-state solitary wave on the large scales and Gaussian fluctuations on the small scales. The main result of the paper is a large deviation principle that expresses this concentration phenomenon precisely in the relevant continuum limit. The large deviation principle pertains to a process governed by a Gibbs ensemble that is canonical in energy and microcanonical in particle number. Some supporting MonteCarlo simulations of these ensembles are also included to show the dependence of the concentration phenomenon on the properties of the dispersive wave equation, especially the high frequency growth of the dispersion relation. The large deviation principle for the process governed by the Gibbs ensemble is based on a large deviation principle for Gaussian processes, for which two independent proofs are given.

Asymptotic behavior of a system of two difference equations of exponential form
In this paper, we study the boundedness and persistence of the solutions, the global stability of the unique positive equilibrium point and the rate of convergence of a solution that converges to the equilibrium $E=(bar{x}, bar{y})$ of the system of two difference equations of exponential form: begin{equation*} x_{n+1}=dfrac{a+e^{-(bx_n+cy_n)}}{d+bx_n+cy_n}, y_{n+1}=dfrac{a+e^{-(by_n+cx_n)}}{d+...
متن کاملEstimation in Simple Step-Stress Model for the Marshall-Olkin Generalized Exponential Distribution under Type-I Censoring
This paper considers the simple step-stress model from the Marshall-Olkin generalized exponential distribution when there is time constraint on the duration of the experiment. The maximum likelihood equations for estimating the parameters assuming a cumulative exposure model with lifetimes as the distributed Marshall Olkin generalized exponential are derived. The likelihood equations do not lea...
متن کاملA fixed point approach to the stability of additive-quadratic-quartic functional equations
In this article, we introduce a class of the generalized mixed additive, quadratic and quartic functional equations and obtain their common solutions. We also investigate the stability of such modified functional equations in the non-Archimedean normed spaces by a fixed point method.
متن کاملSolutions of the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation with Prescribed Asymptotics at Infinity
We prove local existence and uniqueness of solutions for the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations iut + uxx ± |u| 2 u = 0 in classes of smooth functions that admit an asymptotic expansion at infinity in decreasing powers of x. We show that an asymptotic solution differs from a genuine solution by a Schwartz class function which solves a generalized version of the NLS equation. ...
متن کاملDesign of nonlinear parity approach to fault detection and identification based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model and unknown input observer in nonlinear systems
In this study, a novel fault detection scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear system in the presence of sensor noise. A nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is implemented to create multiple models. While the T-S fuzzy model is used for only the nonlinear distribution matrix of the fault and measurement signals, a larger category of nonlinear systems is considered. Next, a mapping to decou...
